奢侈品(Luxury)在国际上被定义为“一种超出人们生存与发展需要范围的，具有独特、稀缺、珍奇等特点的消费品”，
又称为非生活必需品。奢侈品牌首先来自于它所服务的奢侈品。奢侈品在经济学上讲，指的是价值/品质关系比值最高的产品。
从另外一个角度上看，奢侈品又是指无形价值/有形价值关系比值最高的产品。

“奢侈”是一个本土词汇， 《国语》中便有“及桓子,骄泰奢侈,贪欲无艺,略则行志”这样的说法，奢侈这个词在中文中是
一个很明显的贬义词，一般作“挥霍浪费钱财,过分追求享受”解释。

沃尔冈·拉茨勒在畅销书《奢侈带来富足》这样定义奢侈：“奢侈是一种整体或部分地被各自的社会认为是奢华的生活方式，
大多由产品或服务决定。”现在，奢侈品在国际上的概念是“一种超出人们生存与发展需要范围的，具有独特、稀缺、珍奇
等特点的消费品”，又称为非生活必需品。

Luxury的一词的英文解释：

牛津高阶辞典：a thing that is expensive and enjoyable but not essential；
剑桥高阶辞典：something expensive which is pleasant to have but is not necessary；
韦伯斯特辞典：something adding to pleasure or comfort but not absolutely necessary；

纵观这三本辞典，luxury的含义大致有三个重点：好的、贵的、非必需的。

虽然中文解释的“挥霍浪费钱财,过分追求享受”大致也含有这三个特性，不过就表达来说，英文明显要中性许多，
不算太过负面。
